PETROLEUM NEWS.

Yesterday again there was a large number of visitors at the Taranaki Petroleum Co.'s works, and considerable interest was manifested in the workings. It is quite evident there is a growing public interest in the oil industry all over the Dominion. At last night's meting of the directors, over 400 preference shares were allotted, and a further number of applications embracing 200 shares have still to be dealt with. Ordinary shares are firmer in the market, it is satisfactory to note. No. 2 and No. 3 bores are still flowing well.
