This match played at the Recreation Ground provided an interesting contest. Carrington Road batted first and compiled 144, Lash 47, Howard 34, SouthaU 28, and extras 19 being principal contributors. Athletic in their first venture knocked up 65, Holdsworth 21, Bury 14, Sullivan 10 obtaining double figures. SouthaU, with 9 wickets for 20 runs, proved a great stumbling block. Carrington Road in their second essay •could make no headway against the bowling of Holdsworth and Bury, and were all disposed of for 37 runs, of which Richards made 14 and extras 8. Athletic made the most of the short time at tJieir disposal and knocked up 79 for the loss of two wickets, Gwillim. and Bury by vigorous hitting put up 37 and 20 (not out) respectively.
