THE RARAWA. The Rarawa's cargo from Onehunga yesterday morning amounted to 180 tons, including 30 tons of manure, 37 tons of cement, 12 tons of flour, 4 tons of sugar, 250 cases of fruit, besides 4300 ft of timber. THE ROSAMOND. The Rosamond arrived from Wellington, Picton and Nelson yesterday morning with 79 tons of cargo, including 389 sacks of chaff. She sailed for Onehunga about 1 p.m., and returns here to-mor-row. *'"' _____ ■». ;i ; '[ THE OHINEMURI. An arrival in port yesterday was the small steamer Ohinemuri, one time a member of the Northern Company's fleei but now owned by Mr. Harrison. Her cargo consists of 27,000 ft of timber, consigned to Messrs Boon Bros. It is understood that the vessel will wait around here in order to pick up a barque from Australia and tow her to Kaipara. MORE COAL. The Kotuku is expected to arrive here on Saturday with 600 tons of railway coal. The Blackball Coal Co.'s collier Petone is at present discharging a cargo of coal at Onehunga, and is expected here to- i morrow with the balance of her cargo.
The N.Z. Shipping Co.'s Paparoa is at present loading frozen produce in the Waitara roadstead. The increasing extent to which wireless telegraphy and submarine signalling are being used on passenger steamers is shown by the fact that there are now recorded in Lloyd's Register 702 vessels fitted with wireless telegraphic installations, and 459 with submarine signalling apparatus.
