Thompson, a single man, residing in Ponsonby, and employed as motornian on the electric tramways, was killed at 10.45 last night. His car suddenly caught fire. The flames were extinguished, but the car was disabled. Another car, driven by Frederick Christmas, was being attached to the disabled car, when a third car, driven by Motornian Ernest Dawe, came up and bumped into the second car. Thompson was stooping between his and the second car, fixing a coupling, and was crushed between the buffers of the two cars. Death was instantaneous. FELL OFF A WAGGON,

Woodville, ast Night. A young married man named Percy Burlace, employed by Rapley, a carrier, fell off a five-horse waggon to-day, and wheels went over his body. He was badly injured, and taken to the Pahiatua Hospital.

TOSSED BY A BULL. A young man named Edgar Johns, farming at Bell Block, was badly tossed by a two-year-old Jersey bull on Tuesday. It appears that Johns was moving the bull into another paddock for the night, and his sister was waiting for him to come into New Plymouth with her. As he was a long time, she went back, and met people hurrying for the doctor. Johns had fastened the bull' to a post, but before he got out of the reach of the chain the animal was upon him, and lifted him over a fence, the horn entering the body below the region ot the heart. He managed to struggle to Mrs. Street's before he gave in. At latest advice last night he was progressing as well as can be expected in the circumstances. The bull, which had attacked him on two previous occasions, has since been destroyed.
