THE LONG ARM OF THE LAW.

■By Telegraph.—Press A ssociation. Tauranga, Last Niglit. Alfred E. Seott, employed on the Tau-ran'ga-Te Puke railway, was arrested this morning on a. warrant of committment for assault in Wellington on November 28, 1903. At that time Scott was summoned, but did not appear, and the ease was dealt with in his absence. He was sentenced to one month, but for seven years he has evaded arrest. Scott has been here for some time. Constable Skinner noticed that lie answered the description of the man wanted on warrant, and on making enquries, found such was the case. Scott will serve his term in Mount Eden gaol.
