In the Assemblv much bitterness was expressed during the discussion on the Bowling papers, and some of the personalities indulged in during the elections were hurled across the Chamber. Several times the Speaker had to interfere and cause the remarks to be withdrawn.
Mr. Wade caused an uproar by stating that Mr. Holman would have to be flogged into doing his duty.
THE CONSTITUTION ALTERATION. Received 1, 12.50 a.m. Sydney, November 30. In the Assembly, Mr. Wade gave notice of his intention to move that the Federal proposals for the alteration of the Constitution are unnecessary and unfair to the State, and should be resisted.
In the Assembly, Mr. McGowen stated that the Government would carry out its election pledge to provide all necessary school books and requisites, and so make education in State schools absolutely free.
