GENERAL TELEGRAMS
DUMEDIFS HOSPITAL SATURDAY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. The sixth annual Hospital Saturday collection was taken up yesterday. Splendid weather prevailed, and a large army of lady collectors infused great enthusiasm into their work, and met with a very liberal response from the public. The latest count shows the total amount collected to be£ 097 10s Id. As the results of collections made in some country districts and several other amounts have yet to come to hand, it is anticipated that the collection will run into a total of £I2OO. If this expectation is realised, it will constitute a record since the Hospital Saturday movement was inaugurated in 1905. Last year the amount collected was £llOs, and in the previous year £1194. THE MIDLAND RAILWAY. Christchurch, Last Night. The Minister of Public Works has informed Mr. H. A. Campbell that the complaints of co-operative workers on the Midland railway at Cass will be the subject of an enquiry soon after the end of the session.
