PARLIAMENT
LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Saturday. The Council met at 10.30 a.m. The Imprest Supply Bill was passed through all stages. On the motion of Dr. Findlay, it was decided that the Council should insist upon its amendments in the Dentists Amendment. Dr. Collins, Mr. Smith and Dr. Findlay were appointed a committee to draw up reasons for so doing. The Council then adjourned till Monday, when the local Bills received from the House will be put through the final stages. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. Wellington, Saturday. After midnight Mr. Hanan presented the report of the Hine Committee. An Imprest Supply Bill for £267,900 was passed, and the House adjourned till 10 on Saturday morning. The House rose at 1.50, and met again at 10 o'clock. The Maori Herbalists and Metaphysicians and Greymouth Harbor Board Loans Consolidation Amendment Bills were read a first time. The following Bills passed their final stages:—Wellington Harbor Board Empowering and Kaitieke County. On tlie motion thnt the 'Wellington City Milk Supply Bill be read a third time, Mr. Russeil moved that the Bill be postponed, and that the Government should during the recess consider the advisability of introducing legislation of a progressive character, applicable, as in the case of abattoirs, to boroughs of over two thousand inhabitants. The amendment was lost by 39 to 17, and the Bill was passed. The Greymouth Harbor Board Loans Consolidation Amendment Bill passed its final stages. The House adjourned till 10.30 a.m. on Monday.
