1 The managing director o! the Tellurides Proprietary Ltd., reports:—Work is proceeding very satisfactorily at Maratota Since work has.been resumed in the Welcome Jack tunnel the drive has been extended a distance of 87 feet, leaving 113 feet to go to the proposed crosscut. The last 30 feet has been through a splendid class of sandstone country. A cross-cut shows the reef to be 15ft wide, most of which is manganese and from which small dish prospects of loose gold have been obtained. The indication afforded by the decomposition! of the country surrounding the reetj point to a favorable class of rock at no great distance ahead. The Queen reef has been definitely located 180 ft from the Gordon boundary, and a few loose pieces of rock quartz have been obtained a little east of- the reef. A contract is being Jet for the purpose of putting in a low level on the Excellent and Dreadnought claims, which, should open out the reefs in their properties. I
