The Rev. 11. A. Favell, formerly of Holy Trinity Church, Stratford, is at! present assisting in the work of All Saints' Church, Auckland. Lady Dudley, wife of the GovernorGeneral of Australia, who underwent a serious operation on Monday, is makingsatisfactory progress, states a Press Association cable message from Melbourne. An Australian, Dr. Ingenieur Colin Sprent, who did so well at the University at Dresden (Saxony), has ceived an appointment to the research department of one of the largest electrochemical works in. He is probably the only Australian so> favored. Mrs. Ira D. Sankey, widow of the famous evangelist and'hymn-tune died a few weeks ago in New York. She accompanied Mr. Sankey on his 1873 ,tour through England with Mr. D. L. Moody, and in her husband's later years, when his eyesight failed, she was constant in her devoted attendance upon him.
