Beat the butter to a cream, gradually add tke sugar, then the lemon, and, when' verv light, the milk and whites of tlitf< eggX beaten to a stiff froth; add the flour, into which the cream of tartar and soda have been well mixed. Bake in a hot oven, and when nearly cool frost with an icing composed of two eggs mixed, \vjth powdered sugar sufficient to thicken <it, and flavor with lemon or almond.
