. STATE COAL MINES. By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright. Melbourne, November 22. The output of the State coal mine for the year was 102,216 tons. By next month the output will be 2000 tons daily, thus supplying all the requirements of the public service. THE RANDWICK MYSTERY. Sydney, November 23. The jury acquitted Nurse Brown on' the charge of the manslaughter of the girl Ivy O'Brien, the victim of the Randwick mystery. BANK OF NEW SOUTH WALES. Sydney, November 23. The chairman ,of the annual meeting of the Bank of New South Wales stated the advances chiefly consisted ol small and moderate advances to the settlers, who were gradually filling ,up ' the farm lands throughout Australia .and New , Zealand. Referring to the Federal land tax, he said that its discriminating character raised some economic questions. -which might have important issues in respect to landed property all round, which at present were not foreseen. The banks would come under the. highest scale of tax with regard .to even- their smallest branches. This did not seem quite reasonable. . .. GIFT OF COAL COUNTRY. Sydney, November 23. The State Government has received an offer, free of charge, of a coal area ■for State coal mines near Wyong. The alleged value of. the property is something like £5,000,000.
