A NEW ZEALANDER HONORED
MR. R. McXAB'S LECTURES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston N., Last Night. Amongst other experiences of Mr. Robert McXab during his recent visit to' the Old Country was the delivering of lectures upon national defence, under the auspices of the Xational Service Leagufe. They were very highly thought of in England, as was shown by the expressions of current opinion, and yesterday Mr. lie Nab received a very pleasant testimony of their appreciation by the League and its head 7 in the shape of a handsome presentation inkstand, accompanied by the following autograph letter from Field-Marshal Lord Roberts:
'■The Xational Service League. 72 Vic-toria-street, Westminster. London SW October 8, 1910.—Dear .Air. McXab —I write to you as president of the National Service League to express to you the warmest thanks of that ho.lv 'for the valuable service you tendered to the League by speaking for it your recent stay in this country. It Is also my pleasing duty to ask vou, on behalf of the League, to accept an inkstand, winch is being separately forwarded to you, as a token of our grateful recognition of the support which you have <nven to the great cause of national defence to which we are devoted.—Believe me yours very truly, Roberts, F.M." '
