Rv Cable—Press Association—Copyright. St. Petersburg, November 22. The Czar wrote on the margn of the oilicial report of the death 'of Count Tolstoi a eulogy of Tolstoi's creations of the Fatherland's types of character.
Tolstoi, before his death, dictated the message:—"l am going away, but others remain who understand the purport of this life. To them be it given to carry out that which I aimed at doing and failed."
The body, clothed in peasant dress and in a plain oak coffin, lias been conveyed to Yasnayapoliana. To-day's burial rites, in accordance with Tolstoi's wish, were without religious ceremonial.
DENUNCIATION FROM THE "EXTREME RIGHT." St. Petersburg, November 22. Young and old, rich and poor, reverently kissed Tolstoi's hand. There is keen resentment at the Church's interdict of any religious observances at the funeral. * The extreme right of the Duma passed a resolution denouncing Tolstoi as an enemy of Church and State.
