Charged with sellinsr oil and mining stocks through the illegal use of the uost ollice mails. Sheldon Burr, Eugene Burr, and Frank Tobey, president, secretary. and vice-president respectively of Burr Brothers and Company, New \ork. were arrested after a raid, in which the Postmaster-General, Mr. Hitchcock, participated. Charles Vair.'han, director of the tireless Telegraph and Telephone Company, was arrested after a second raid in connection with the frauds. Mr. Hitchcock estimates that jet-rich-quick concerns since 1003 have fleeced the public of £20,000,000. The Burr case involves £8,000,000.
