DOMINION EXPORTS,
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Yesterday. The value of the principal products passed throguh the Customs for export during the fortnight ended November 15 is £399,771, compared with £385,9G5 for the corresponding period ot 1909. Details: Butter £121,840, cheese £33,199, frozen beef £64, frozen mutton carcases £6316, frozen lamb £425, wheat £17,014, oats £2259, potatoes' £76, New Zealand hemp £20,827, rabbits £6367, tow £995, kauri gum £12,087, grain and pulse other than wheat and oats £154, hops £1991, hides £6958, skins (all kinds) £17,048, tallow £6012, timber £28,559, wool £46,760, gold £70,820. A CORRECTION. Auckland, Yesterday. A Press Association, telegram of November 3 stated that a- youth, Sydney Herbert Gordon Doyle, had been sentenced at the Supreme Court to seventeen years' for breaking and entering, etc. This was an error. The sentence imposed by Mr. Justice Edwards was on each of four charges of breaking and entering and theft from a dwelling two years, and on each of nine charges of theft one year, the sentences being concurrent. In addition prisoner was declared an habitual i criminal. !
RAILWAY EMPLOYEES' FRICTION. Wellington, Yesterday. The Wellington branch of the New Zealand Engine-drivers, Firemen and Cleaners' Association passed a resolution tendering hearty thanks to the Government, the Railways Committee and Parliament for the recognition of the association, also that the branch will do all in its power to allay the illfeeling between the Associated Society of Railway Servants and their association. RAIN IN THE WAIRARAPA. Masterton, Yesterday. Much-needed rain was falling in Masterton district all the morning, which will effectually check the hush fires for the time being. LIFE-SAYING. Christehurch. Yesterday. The visit of Mr. Henry, secretary of the Life-saving Society. lias created great enthusiasm in swimming circles. In the examinations conducted by Mr. Henry. IT. Billson and Miss P<. Poulter Sained the award of merit, the latter being the first ladv to gain the distinction in New Zealand. A centre of the society has been formed at Climlehurcli. EDUCATIONAL. Christehurch, Yesterday. For the Junior Civil Service and Senior Free Place examinations tlere are 118 girl candidates and 113 boys. '
