(From Our Own Correspondent.) Stratford, Last Night.

Yesterday was one of the warmest days experienced in Stratford for a long time. Mr. H. Burmester, manager of the local branch of the New Zealand Clothing Factory, sustained a slight sunstroke yesterday. y The Civil Service examinations are being held to-day. There are forty-five candidates. The Poliokura Defence Rifles have been accepted by the Defence Department. Dr. Valintine, Inspector-General of Hospitals, met the members of the Board to-day. Another meeting of the Board will be held to-morrow.
