A MAORI HERO.
HONORED IN ENGLAND. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, November 20. The Royal Humane Society's medal was presented to Pani Paori, the son of a famous Maori chief, for rescuing a drowning man in Cornwall. Paori is a descendant of the Ngatiporaus, of Waikato.

Pani Paori belonged to the N>atopoas, of Waiheko, and not to the Ngatiporaus. He was adopted by Mr. C'hamberlin Chamberlin, now in England, who formerly owned a large estate at Woodside, near Auckland, and also what is now known as Chamberlin Island,
