THE MOROCCAN MILITARY.

A QUEER SORT OF ARMY.

By Cable.—Press Association. —Copyright. Tangier, November 20.

The Moorish officers are antagonistic to army reforms as the payment of tne men has been taken out of their hands. A considerable proportion of the army's rifles were stolen by the officers. The 1 Sultan recovered possession by ordering the troops to Fez for inspection. In order to make a show the officers produced the arms and hired loafers to serve as soldiers, also to conceal the fact that they were drawing pay for more men than they commanded. When the army appeared the palace gates were closed and the soldiers disarmed, to the chagrin of the officers.
