The New Zealand Shipping Company is having built a new passenger steamer, which will be 1000 tons larger than the Ruahine. Dennys, the builders, undertake to deliver her in May. She will have twin screws. A new cargo boat, building at Russell's, Glasgow, will be 13,000 tons gross and 495 ft long, and is to be delivered in July. This vessel will be the largest steamer trading to the Dominion.
