The Broken Hill Miners' Association strongly attack the Labor Government over its refusal to release Stokes, one of the rioters in the Broken Hill strike. Two lodges at Newcastle have nominated candidates to oppose Peter Bowling for the presidency of the Miners' Federation. LUMPERS RESUME WORK. Sydney, November 17. The coal lumpers resumed' work yesternight, and the three years' agreement was signed. GREEDY GRASSHOPPERS. Melbourne, November 17. There is a serious plague of grasshoppers in the western districts, and many miles of country are eaten out.
