DEBATE ABOUT HYMN-BOOKS. '.jH By Telegraph.—Press Association. jH Auckland, Last Night. The whole of the morning was oecu-,,|H pied by the Presbyterian Assembly in |H discussing whether the "Church Hymn- fl ary" or the new "Church Praise" is more suitable hymn book to be adopted JB throughout the Church. jH Dr. Gibbs moved, "That the Assembly 9 declare m favor of one hymn-book, and ,9 that it be the new ''Church Praise,' but JH that its introduction be deferred to- & jfl convenient time, though it shall be'JH adopted at once in new and mission stations." ~^H The Rev. J. M. Simpson (Auckland)jW seconded the motion. jjfl The Rev. A. Miller made an appeal °nJH behalf of the "Church Hymnary," and II moved, "That the 'Hymnary' be recognis- jH ed as the hymn-book of the Church ia|H New Zealand, and that liberty be givenJß to congregations to use the new 'ChurcnSjM Praise' if they so desire."
