Received 10, 9.45 p.m. Madrid, November 16. Morocco has agreed to pay Spain an indemnity of £2,600,000, bearing interest at the rate of three per cent. Spain will continue to occupy Riff. THE CANADIAN NAVY. Received 17, 12.30 a.m. Ottawa, November 10. Canada has ordered from the Admiralty a cruiser of the Bristol class. THE HERO OF QUEBEC. Received 17, 12.30 a.m. Ottawa, November 16. The appeals in aid of the fund for the erection of a memorial at General Wolfe's burial place at Greenwich, are meeting with a hearty response from Canadians. PASSENGER STEAME-R MISSING. Received 17, 12.30 a.m. Ottawa, November 10. There is an unconfirmed report that the steamer Wolverine, with fourteen of a crew and 00 passengers aboard, foundered in Lake Winnipeg. Her nonarrival is causing great anxiety. STRANDED PASSENGERS' SERIOUS PLIGHT. Received 17, 12.55 a.m. New York, November 1(5. Eighty-three passengers and members of the crew of the Portland arc stranded at Kutalla Island and arc stormhound. Few people live on the island. and the food supply is scanty. The plight of those marooned is serious. A steamer tried for twelve hours to enter the harbor, but was beaten back by the gale.
