SUMMARY AND FORECAST. j By Telegraph—Pre« Association. . Wellington, Last Night. | Following is Rev. D. C. Bates' summary i and forecast:—A westerly area of low pressure passed southward of Xew Zealand on Sunday, and is apparently being followed by another disturbance from the north-west, with the'lowest pressure about Cook Strait. Rafc has fallen in most parte of the country to-day. Present indications are for rain in all parts of the country and probably heavy on the East Coast of the South Island. South-easterly winds, strong to gale, are probable southward of Hokitika and KaiIcoura and high northerlies, changing by west to southerlies elsewhere. The barometer will probably rise everywhere after about ten to sixteen hours.
