THE LAST DAYS OF THE WORLD
" ARE THEY APPROACHING? The Sydney Daily Telegraph publishes an interesting account,-of a Seventh Day Adventist community which has established itself at Avondalc in New South Wales. The members lead the simple life and refrain from the use of. meat, intoxicants, and tobacco. They also believe, it would appear, that the end of the world is approaching. This is what one of their number, an old man, told the representative of the Telegraph:— "Bible prophecy is fast being fulfilled, and there is a rapidly-growing conviction among "arnest Christians throughout the world that we arc living in the last days of this world's history. Statesmen expect some great change or crisis—everywhere in the world is trouble and unrest. Calamities on land and sea, wars and epidemics, crime and immorality, are fast fitting the world for its final doom. The destiny of earth's teeming millions will soon be decided in Heaven: The great day of God hasteneth. and men must be warned. A bitter day of weeping will soon come for the unawlly. In Luke 21. 11. it is foretold that, earthquakes, famines, pestilence, and fearful sights aiid great signs will precede the second advent. Although signs and warnings are seen on every hand, people still neglect a preparation for the great catastrophe."
