NEW PLYMOUTH v. UNITED SERVICE.

The Recreation Ground suited the United Service players if the store is any indication. They made 148 to then opponents' 9S. Tne best of the six players who knocked up double figures was Bowles, who was post striker. He made 44 (by six 4's, one 3, four 2's, and nine singles), Eocock (5), Dennis (17), Wood (14), Sullivan (14), Girling (14), una "'Air. Extras" (14), being the other double-figure contributors. Five bowlers were tried, the most successful being Lusk, who bowled three overs and got two wickets at a cost of 12 runs. Ardeii and Stohr shared the honors of highest scorer for New Plymouth, making 2s. each. Whittle (10) was next best. Wood's seven for 21 wps the best average in the bowling. Scores: UNITED SERVICE.
