RUN ON A BANK
ASSISTANCE FROM TUREADXKEDLE STREET. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, November 11. An anonymous letter circulated among depositors in the Birkbeek Bank falsely connecting it with the Charing -Cross Bank (which is in liquidation) resulted in a run on the bank, hut it is paying steadily.
The Bank of England has extended substantial assistance to the Birkbeek Bank.
