In Devon-street at 8 o'clock to-night there will appear a novel advertisement of the United Gymnasium Society's forthcoming carnival. The announcement will be of such a nature as to be worth making a special trip to town for. To thoroughly enjoy your dip in the briny you'll most assuredly need one of the latest bathing costumes, because even on the sandy sea-shore Fashion's eye never blinks. Messrs. Morey and Son can always be relied on to supply the most up-to-date articles, even in seaside costumes. In a replace advertisement they call attention to their larga assortment of girls' and women's bathing costumes. These include the smartest styles and are to be had in all required sizes. Owing to the applications for space at the Rose Show to be held in the Brougham Street Hall on Thursday, 17th inst., being far greater than was anticipated, the committee will have to limit the number of table decorations. Those who intend exhibiting are therefore requested to make their entries as early as possible, so as to avoid disappointment. The entrance fee for all classes is sixpence, except class 28, which is free. The G. W. Lawrence Co. have some new advertisements in - our wanted columns. Plain figures are given for some

All new suits of the most desirable kinds at prices that cause busy selling at the big corner store when others are only "displaying." —Advt. New lines of furnishings are awaiting your selection and purchase at White's. The sheetings, curtains, cretonnes and other requisites for the home at Christ-mas-tide are all newly opened, and represent the bedrock price for the quality shown. Quality has not been sacrificed to price, however, and so if you find a lower price than our store, you will find the quality inferior too.—Advt. We have just opened four big job lines, consisting of blouses, sunshades and sash ribbons. The Busy Cash Store, opposite Carnegie Library, King street, New Plymouth, will be crowded with hundreds of delighted cash buyers. Will you be one of them?—Advt.
