HOMING.

The New Plymouth Flying .Club added another success to their many satisfactory results obtained this season, by recording very fast time in a flock race flown from Christchurch, a distance ''of 406 miles. Sixteen birds, representing seven lofts, were despatched to the point, of liberation, and were liberated at 5 a.m., under favorable circumstances. The lirst bird to reach New Plymouth was F. James' Arcadia, recording a velocity of 1051 yards per minute, H. Moverley's Diabolo and Redan homed 15 seconds later, and S. Lovell's Bridge 2% minutes afterwards. The following is the actual time taken: F. James'' Arcadia, 11 hr. 20 min.; H. J. Moverley's Diabolo, 11 hr. 20% min.; S. Lovell's Bridge, 11 hr. 22y 2 min.

The Club also held a race from Waverley, a distance of 58 miles, under good weather conditions. Thirty-two birds, representing eight lofts, competed. The winner flew the distance in 57 minutes, a velocity of about 1790 yards per minute. The result was as follows: F. James' Sylvia, 57 min.; C. Gleeson's Jubilee, 57 min. 10 sec; H. J. Moverley's Bon Ami, 58 min.; W. Boulton's Mother Goose, 59 min. 45 sec.
