Bates' summary and forecast:—The weather has continued foggy on the West Coast of the South Island, and cloudy and warm weather has been experienced generally. Westerly winds, moderate to strong, have prevailed everywhere. Present indications are for mild and humid conditions generally, with heavy rain on the West Coast, "and rain probable shortly everywhere. High northerly and westerly winds are probable everywhere.
