Dairy herd owners arc riminded that entries for the Taranaki Agricultural .Society's second championship butter-fat competition will close on the 12th hist. Good paih!(K-kiii<; has been arranged for. and the same shed as was in use last year will again be used. A strong committee lias been set up to supervise and manage the competition, and it is anticipated that there will be a good number of entries again this year. The Society is giving as prize-money the sum of £lB, to be divided amongst the owners of the first four cows. Attaching to the competition, of course, there will also be the advertisement for owners of the quality of milk they can supply. General entries for the Society's show will close on Saturday, the 20th hist. The committee expects that there will be good entries in all classes. Persons who have not received catalogues are asked to write to the secretary, or call at his office, where they will be supplied. The catering for the show will be in the capable hands of Mr. A. Woollcr, whose reputation should be sufficient warranty for the quality. Luncheon, afternoon tea, fruit, and soft drinks stalls will be on the ground for the convenience of patrons of the show. There will also be a publican's booth, as usual. The usual train arrangements for the show have been completed, on simil'.r lines to last year's, for the convenience of country visitors.' : A meeting of the committee will j be held on Thursday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, as.a working bee to make all arraijaements on the ground for the cattle pens, and show ,ring. | Up to the present a large number! of enquiries have been received regarding •pace for side shows, etc.. so parents 1 should find plenty of amusements for their children at the show.
