McGowen, Holman and Beeby, members of the New South Wales Cabinet, interviewed Mr. Hughes, and practically stated their intention to nationalise the iron industry, and asked if the Commonwealth would obtain its railway material from the State works if it did so. Mr. Hughes said he was personally favorable, and would place the matter before the Cabinet.
