SUMMARY AND FORECAST. j By Telegraph —Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' weather summary and forecast: —Rain has fallen about the East Cape and Gisborne and in the southernmost districts, but the weather has been fair to cloudy elsewhere. A low-pressure area is passing away eastward of East Cape, while another westerly area is advancing towards the South Island. President indications are for cloudy and unsettled weather, and rain probably following shortly in most parts of the country. The barometer will probably fall everywhere soon, especially in the south, and the winds change to freshening northerlies in most parts of the country, but especially southward of New Plymouth and Napier.
