Nelson, Wednesday—Sailed, at 11.20 a.m., Rosamond, for New Plymouth. THE PUKAKI.. The Pukaki completed discharging yesterday and sailed in the evening for Onehunga. THE ROSAMOND. The Rosamond left Nelson yesterday morning for New Plymouth and is due here early this morning. The personnel in the officers of the vessel has been changed somewhat. Mr. J. A. Newman, third officer, went ashore at Wellington for orders, and Mr. Gray, late of the Flora, succeeded him. Mr. S. J. Carman, chief engineer, has been granted, holiday leave, his place being taken by Mr. W. Nainsmith, late second engineer of the vessel. Mr. C. E. Bell, late third engineer, is promoted a step, and Mr. B. Collinge joins the Rosamond as third. Mr. T. Hennings, late of the Kotuku, is purser. THE TAVIUNI. The Taviuni, which was expected to arrive here to-day, has been delayed in the South Island and is now not expected till to-morrow. » SHIPBUILDING IN THE DOMINION.
It appears very probable that the shipbuilding industry is to become firmly established in Dunedin. Last year a steel ferry steamer was constructed by Messrs John McGregor and Co., and the same firm are now building a second steamer of similar dimensions for the Peninsula Ferry Company. Messrs McGregor also have an order for a new steamer for the Clutha River Board and also for -the new steel steamer for the Railway Department's Lake Wakatipu service. ;
