PETROLEUM NEWS.

Mr. A. E. Watkina, who, on behalf of a local resident, offered a supply .of crude petroleum for use as fuel on board the Terra Nova, has received the following reply from Mr. J. J. Kinsey, of Christchurch, through whom the offer waa made: —"Captain Scott greatly appreciates your kind offer, but regfets the furnaces of the Terra Nova are not adapted for the use of oil fuel; therefore he is unable to accept your donation."
