Wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,0(50,000 quarters, for tlu Continent 2,275,000 quarters, Atlantic shipments 254,000 quarters, Pacific 45,000 quarters, total for Europ" 1.775,000 quarters, including Argentine 60.000 quarters, Russia 870,000 quarters, Damibian 255,000 quarters, India 52,000 quarters, Australasia 95,000 quarters.
TARANAKI WOOL, SKIN HIDE AND TALLOW SALE. Mr. Newton King reports:—On Tuesday, 25th October, I held my usual fourweekly sale of above produce. The catalogue comprised 13 bales and 01 sacks wool, 3110 sheepskins, 'lB casks and 29 tins tallow, 1287 hides and 643!) calfskins, as well as the usual assortment of horsehair, cow-tails, bones, etc. There was a good attendance of buyers and eomj petition was keen throughput. Wool—My catalogue was small, but what little* there was sold well at late rates. In sympathy with other markets, dry sheepskins were y 4 d lower, but gre'en skins held their own. Average butchers' cow hides were on a par with late rates. Superior cow were easier, while ox hides advanced %d per lb. Calfskins sold well at late rates. Tallow advanced 5s per ton. I quote: — Wool—Crutchings 5y 4 d to 5%d, fleete 7V 2 d to 'B%d, cotted fleece V/ 4 d, first dead 7y 2 d, second dead 4d to 5y 4 d, scoured pieces 9d, pieces 4d, skin pieces 3d t& 3%d.. _ ,

Tallow —In casks, best mixed 29s to 29s 3d, medium 28s 3d to 28s 9d, inferior 27s to 27s 6d; in tins, best 32s 3d, medium 275; lard, 20s per cwt. Bones, £5 3s per ton. Horsehair, Is Id, Is 6%d, to Is 7d per lb. I Cowhair, lOd per lb. Cowtails, Is 8d per doz. I Horse oil, £2 10s per barrel.
