THE NEW BRIGHTON FIRE
By Telegraph.—Press Assookfltn. Christchurch, Tuesday. A survey of the scene of the fire at New Brighton impresses one wjth the small amount of damage actually done compared with the magnitude of the danger. A residence was destroyed and some small whares. One large place supposed to have been burned escaped. It was impossible yesterday actually to ascertain what had happened, because of the smoke. The fire-fighters had a strenuous time at the edge of the borough. Duff was the only one insured, and his insurance was £SO.
