Stanton, the men's agent, wrote to the manager of the PowellDuffryn Company, of South Wales, to the effect that, if any blacklegging occurs in connection with the dispute there is going to be murder. The company refused to conduct further negotiations with Stanton, whom the men support in his attitude.

Twelve thousand Cambrian miners, whose notices are expiring, propose to the Powell-Duffryn strikers to form a trade union independent of the miners' federation. Twenty-five thousand are affected.
