FROM THE BACK OF THE COURT
A WOMAN INTERJECTS. Wellington, Yesterday. A little excitement was caused in the Magistrate's Court on Saturday morning. Just after a man had been sentenced to a term of imprisonment for using improper language, a woman in the back of the Court called out: "You ought to be bung!" The magistrate immediately ordered that the woman should be arrested, and when the other cases were disposed of she was placed in the dock and charged with interrupting the proceedings of the Coiutt. At that time she was in an excitable state, and His Worship remanded her for an hour. She gave her name as Agnes Mary Reardon, and when she was brought back to Court an hour later appeared to be much calmer. The magistrate gave her to understand tha.t it was very improper for anyone to Interrupt the proceedings of the Court as she had done. He considered, however, that she would not have acted in that way if she had not had liquor, but she would have to be careful in future. She would be discharged on that occasion.
