MAKURI GORGE SCHEME. By Telegraph.— Press Association. Pahiatua, Last Night. A conference of delegates representing the local bodies and the Chamber of Commerce in the districts interested in the proposed Makuri power scheme was held this afternoon. It was unanimously resolved: "That the delegates attending this conference, after visiting the Makuri borge, are of opinion that the proposed Makuri electric power scheme should be one of the first to be undertaken by the Government."
