HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
THE COMING SHOWS. The committee of the New Plymouth Horticultural Society met on Wednesday night. Mr. W. W..Smith's resignation was accepted with regret. Judges and stewards were appointed for the rose show, to be held in the Brougham Street Hall on November 17; also for the spring show, to be held in the Theatre on December 8. Messrs. McGahey, Paton and Sandford were appointed a staging committee. Several alterations as regards staging were suggested, which should be an improvement to the effect of the show. No entrance fee is to be charged for class 28 of the rose show schedule, table decorations for exhibition only. So far as possible, judges from outside New Plymouth have been appointed. Table decorations are to be judged by points, and each judge is to judge separately. Txical growers are to be asked to make an attractive exhibition.
