THE WEATHER.
FORECAST AND SUMMARY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, T*st Night. The Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast:—Heavv rain fell in many parts of the North Island on Thursday night, and the weather has been squally and showery in Foveaux Strait and on the West Coast of the South Island to-day, but elsewhere the weather has improved. Strong westerly winds have prevailed. Present indications are for a slowly rising barometer everywhere. Southwesterly winds-will probably prevail in the south. Fair weather is probable northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and changeable weather elsewhere, showery in many parts of the South Island.
