A reward of £2OO is offered for the discovery of the missing navigators of the balloon America 11. London, October 26. The Morning Post's Lebaudy airship travelled from Soissons, in the Department of Seine et Oise, to Aldershot, in five hours. When entering the.shed the envelope ripped, and the airship collapsed with a crash, but the damage was not serious. Paris, October 20. Blanchard, the aviator, fell 100 feet and was killed. REMARKABLE RAPIDITY OF TRAVEL. TEN MILES IN SEVEN MINUTES. Received 27, 11.40 p.m. New York, October 27. M. Latham, at Belmont Park, aeroplaned ten miles in eight minutes, and M. Albrun covered the same distance in seven minutes, but the flights were unofficial. This morning a gale prevented flights.
THE BALLOONISTS SAFE. THE VICTORS IN THE CONTEST. Received 27, 11.40 p.m. Ottawa, October 27. A telegram from the lost balloonists announce that they landed safelv in the wilderness 277 miles nortli of Quebec. The aeronauts of the America 11., Hawley and Post, win the Gordon-Bennett Cup, having covered 1350 miles—a world's record.
