OUR LICENSING BILL.
"CHOICE BETWEEN POLAR EXTREMES." By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright. Sydney, October 26. The Daily Telegraph, discussing the willingness of the New South Wales Alliance to accept a Liquor Bill similar to that proposed in New Zealand, says New Zealand's Bill offers the people a cold choice between polar extremes. That the middle course of reduction is eliminated is not surprising, in view of the tendency in New South Wales and New Zealand to push it aside and to wage war between continuance and nolicense, but whether the cause of temperance benefits by the refusal to hear the voice of moderation is questionable.
