Saintv. .Mrs. Saintv and family escaped in nifflit attire. The insurances were: House .a-23 in Liverpool, London and Ollobe; furniture, £330 in the', South British. '<* SOAP WORKS DESTROYI'fb. Napier, Wednesday. The ITawke's Bay Soap and Taunery C'o.'s works at Awatoto were totally destroyed by fire this morningii'The'flames had a <jood hold when disooivcrpd,, and in the absence of firc-fightin™ appliances the structure was soon reduced to ashes. Insurances on the soap works are:' Phoenix .tlo.jO, Norwich Union i'looo7 Royal ClOOO; on the contents, £l-100, in varij oils office*. Tile loss over and above the insurance is estimated at from £3OOO to :C^OOC.
