AUSTRALIA'S NAVY.
BORROWS BRITISH BLUEJACKETS. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright London, October 25. Mr. McCall, the Tasmanian AgentGeneral, denies the report that the Australian destroyers are stoked by British bluejackets owing to the Australians beinj unacquainted with oil fuel. The latter were capable, but the Admiralty lent the stokers to make up the complement of the vessel. NECESSITY FOR A NAVY SPIRIT. Received 26, 9 p.m. Rockhampton, October 20. Admiral Henderson, speaking at the Town Hall, said it was to a sea Power that Australia must look for protection. He trusted the people would support the Government in its policy, outside of party politics altogether. As far as their financial ability permitted they should continue building up the Australian Navy. He wished to impress on public men, naval men, and others the necessity for imbuing the with the naval spirit.
