forecast and summary. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Rev. D. C: Bates' summary and forecast.—The barometer has fallen everywhere, and 29.35 inches was recorded at the Bluff at noon to-day. Heavy rain has fallen in many parts, especially on the West Coast. High northerly ■winds have prevailed, but moderated today in many parts of the country. Present indications are for strong westerly winds generally, and gales in Cook and Foveaux Straits. The weather will probably be cloudy and unsettled, with rain in all parts of the country. The barometer will probably rise temporarily in the South.
