DAIRY PRODUCE REPORT. Messrs E. Griffiths and Co., New Plymouth, are in receipt of the following market report from their London princi- : pals, Messrs Mills and Sparrow, dated September 9:— During the past week, we have experienced fairly dry weather, with cool northeasterly winds; in fact, it is very cold for the time of year, but this is in favor of the consumption of butter, which should now be good. Danish: The market is unchanged, with a slightly firmer tone on best grade's. One of the reasons for the market bein« so quiet on Danish butter for the last I few weeks is that a quantity of coldstored June-made butter has been placed on the market just lately, so that this has made the supply somewhat heavier, but we think this is now fairly well cleared, and we may therefore look for better markets shortly. Siberian: Arrivals are now slow.lv decreasing, this week's amounting to a little under 10,000 .casks, while still less is expected for next week. Trade continues very quiet, as most of the butter is of a secondary character. .French: Last week's advance has not checked the demand, which has and as the quality is now showing up rather better, the trade is satisfactory, ihe market is firm, and a further advance is expected. Australian: A few butters from Queensland and South Australia arrived this week per s.s. Orsova, and turned out m fairly good order, although there is oSftv Ve ? * m ? ]l Proportion of best quality, and this ,s what is most wanted at the present time.
