It is the intention of Mr. W. F. Uassey, M.P.. Leader of the Opposition, early in the year, to make a campaign in the Dominion. He will probably be assisted by one or more of the leading members of the Opposition. Xo-lieense does not seem to have had a. depressing effect on Mastcrton (state a. northern exchange). This year the Wairarapa Farmers' Co-operatiye Association, the largest trading establishment in the town, shows a net proft 01 ■€lo.ooo, as against £G43(i for the previous year, and SO new shares were taken up, as against 2S for the previous year.
