UNREST IN INDIA.
COMPLEX AND OBSCURE CAUSES. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Received' 25, 9.40 p.m. London, October 25. Earl Crewe, speaking at the Harrow Association dinner in honor of Sir Charles Harding?, the newly-appointed Viceroy of India, stated that the causers of unrest in India were numerous, complex and obscure. Something must be done to relieve it, but legislative enactments were unable in a moment to assuage such deep-seated unrest. Sir Charles Hardinge's speech was optimistic.
